Country Swing.... The Bane of My Existance
In Logan we have a place called the Fun Park. Inside this glorious land are things such as a bowling alley, laser tag, arcade games, and a dance floor. They host Country Swing dancing on Monday and Wednesday nights. Mondays are usually pretty empty but Wednesdays are sometimes so packed you can't really dance much. The entire time I've been in Logan, my buddies have been trying to convince me to go. I always declined because, quite frankly, I can barely handle myself trying to dance, let alone having someone else whirl me around. So finally tonight Marci guilt tripped me into going because Mary couldn't come. We headed there with the two boys from next door that go religiously. Marci got her first speeding ticket on the way over (Congrats Marci! We're so proud!) so by the time we got there, the mood was less than cheerful. The first few songs were wretched beyond compare. But finally, our neighbor, Kalle (a boy) took me under his wing and taught me basically a million things I never knew about Country Swing. I did the Queen's chair, and the can opener, and the fall, and the tunnel, and a bunch of other stuff! It turned out to be really fun. Even though I struggled with following, it went really well. He was a great teacher and I admit, I could go back. We'll have to see.
